The program

Are you a newly certified ScrumMaster? Than this program is for you.

Research shows that if not putting the new knowledge into practice straight away people forget more than 30% of the information already one week after the training. And after a month has passed this number is exceeding 50%. With other words you forget more than half of what you´ve learnt just a month ago. You can probably confirm it from your own experience.

Though forgetting the details is not the only problem. Some serious questions will start coming into your mind as soon as you enter your workplace the day after the training:

  • What do I do practically?
  • Where do I start on my first day as a real ScrumMaster?
  • What exactly will I tell my team?
  • How will I transfer my knowledge to them?
  • How will I structure my first Sprint Planning Meeting?
  • Where should I put my attention first?
  • And what about Product Backlog Refinement?
  • And coaching my almost invisible Product Owner?
  • Which format should I use for my first retrospective?

These and probably hundreds of other questions start popping up in your head as soon as you are done with your training and arrive back to office.

I know it. I have been there myself. I will tell you a secret, I was not born Certified Scrum Trainer. I once was a developer, then a team lead, then a project manager and one day I have taken my Certified ScrumMaster class exactly like you did recently. I had all of the questions above exactly like you have now. I tried to do my best acting on my feelings of right and wrong, armed with books and printouts from the web. I invented my own wheels. Some things have worked, some did not. I have failed miserably thousands of times. I had lots of those moments when I wanted to run away and never show my face to my team mates ever again. I was embarrassed, humiliated, laughed at so many times.

I don’t want you to experience all these moments. I don’t want you to sit in the empty meeting room, after yet another failed retrospective some months after my CSM class feeling miserable and lonely and thinking that I am not good enough for this, that its so much harder to achieve great results with real people and real teams than I envisioned myself after my training.

That is why I have gathered soon 10 years of my personal experience, the experiences of my colleagues – fellow Certified Scrum Trainers and Agile Coaches from all over the world and created this 10 week online ScrumMaster onboarding program.

We will meet online every Saturday during these 10 weeks. I will guide you through the most uncertain of you times being a ScrumMaster – the very beginning. Every session will be dedicated to one practical thing, one topic that we will go deep into details. We will talk about necessary preparations for all team activities, create agendas, think through execution, talk about many pitfalls and how to avoid them, discuss necessary follow-ups. You will have a chance of asking questions, share experiences with other participants and last but not least at the end of every working session you will get your homework, some real stuff to try out with your team in real life and report back to the group.
